Description We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in the Healthcare/NHS industry. This role is based in Fresno, California, and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for a range of tasks, including insurance billing, accounts receivable management, and interacting with insurance companies. Responsibilities: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of insurance billing and provide a comprehensive understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) Show proficiency in Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), National Drug Code (NDC), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and ICD-10 coding, including multi-specialty billing Manage accounts receivable effectively, which includes addressing zero EOBs, composing letters of appeal, and investigating unpaid claims Handle Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) edits and ICD-10 (Local Coverage Determination) LCD Edits Expertly handle private pay, Medicare/Medicaid, and Medi-Cal insurance billing requirements Interpret EOBs accurately and efficiently Verify benefits with insurance companies to ensure smooth processing of claims Utilize skills in Medical Billing and Microsoft Excel to optimize the billing process and maintain accurate records. Requirements Applicant should possess a minimum of two years of experience in the role of a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar capacity within the healthcare/NHS industry. Proficiency in medical billing is a crucial requirement for this role. Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential. The candidate should have the ability to manage and maintain accurate and organized billing information. Familiarity with various medical coding systems and terminologies is necessary. The applicant must have a strong understanding of medical insurance policies, claims procedures, and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective interaction with patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies. The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills to resolve billing discrepancies and discrepancies. Ability to work independently and in a team, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of organization are essential. Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection protocols relating to patient information.
