Position Summary
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. This individual will play a key role in managing the company’s vendor payments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
Verify and reconcile purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor statements.
Manage weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, and wire transfers).
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records.
Support month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards.
Collaborate with Purchasing and Operations teams to resolve billing or receipt issues.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a construction, equipment rental, or manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (currently using Point of Rental and QuickBooks Desktop)
o Strong Excel skills.
Soft Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
o Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
