Bar Lou in Montecito is seeking a General Manager & Floor Manager. Bar Lou is a new concept by the team that brought Dominick's, Little Dom's & Little Dom's Seafood to southern California. This new concept is focused on bringing the flavors of the French Riviera in a cozy environment to Montecito.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food production and hospitality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for the restaurant industry, with a focus on wine & spirit knowledge.

Duties:

- Assist in managing daily operations of the restaurant, including supervising and assisting with service, wine procurement, and staff management.

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the establishment.

- Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service, fostering a positive work environment.

- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels to ensure efficient food production.

- Utilize Toast POS systems for order processing, sales tracking, and reporting.

- Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.

- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to develop strategies for improving operational efficiency and profitability.

- Train new staff members on restaurant policies, procedures, and best practices in hospitality management.

Experience:

- Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality management is preferred.

- Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills.

- Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus.

- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance improvement. Ready to master every position in the restaurant before trying to teach someone else

- Strong coach and leader – gives effective feedback, grows the team every day

- Organized & deadline-oriented and focused on driving results

- Cares about people & builds relationships with guests and team members

- Humble & eager to learn from a dynamic, growing restaurant group

- Knowledge of coffee preparation and bar operations is beneficial but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $83,294.00 - $88,630.00 per year

As part of an exciting restaurant group with opportunities for career growth, we are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and mentor staffers as well as control costs. We are seeking a seasoned, dedicated, and professional General Manager responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the restaurant. Must have min 5 years as GM capacity, new restaurant opening, and high volume experience. If you are a true leader, we want to hear from you.

The GM will be an ambassador for the brand within its community. The GM provides leadership and strategic planning to all departments to support the service culture and maximize operations and guest satisfaction. The GM will work closely with the CDC and Executive chef/Owners.

Team Development and Training – actively working to hire, train, and mentor a high-performance management and hourly team, coaching where needed.

Schedule employees and maintain all administrative responsibilities.

Managers will regularly stand, walk, talk, carry, bend, stoop, turn, and lift Fifty (50) pounds. Managers will also view a computer monitor and type/write regularly. Candidate must be able to work on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Clear Communication skills, verbal and written word is critical

Hold employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedures when necessary.

Must have excellent wine, beer, and food knowledge

Provide ample training and education to ensure staff menu, wine, cocktail & spirits knowledge. The team must be knowledgeable about and technically proficient with the full menu, cocktail list, and wine selections while also having the ability to provide excellent service and hospitality to all guests.

The GM will work primarily with the Front of House team to ensure smooth and efficient service for all employees and guests.

Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness of all physical spaces at all times.

Ensure that all employees receive regular and consistent coaching and/or performance reviews.

Cultivate Regulars and continue to find ways to strengthen the community.

Ensure Department of Health compliance in all spaces at all times.

Ability to work under pressure.

Ability to work with budgets, payroll, revenue, P&L, and forecasting.

Manage inventory, vendors, and payroll.
