JOB TITLE: Portfolio Accountant

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

REPORTS TO: VP Finance and Accounting

About the Job:

The Portfolio Accountant ensures the financial reporting of Gaetani Real Estate's portfolio of properties is timely and accurate. This includes a detailed review of monthly financial statements, and general ledge, along with overseeing daily transactions. The ideal candidate is detailed, trustworthy, and committed to working with a team of dedicated accountants.

Responsibilities:

Daily/Weekly

o Review bank cash receipts

o Check-run A/P batches

o Follow-up with returned NSFs

o Check register uploads

Monthly

o Mortgage review and coordinate

o Portfolio account close cycle

o Assist with month-end balancing

Quarterly

o Assist with San Francisco tax filings

o File non-withholding forms

o CAM charges

Projects

o Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

o 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience

o Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

o Advanced knowledge of Yardi and AppFolio

o Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel

o Deep understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply those principles to job assignments

o Ability to take initiative, comfortable with problem-solving, and able to present possible solutions to manager for feedback

o Excellent communication skills—verbal and written
