Anticipated Salary Range: $107,000 – $143,000 depending on experience.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in shaping the institution's financial landscape. In this role, your expertise will be crucial in executing essential finance functions with a direct impact on our programs, necessitating a deep understanding of internal policies, systems, and external regulations.

You will be responsible for managing key areas within our finance operation, providing critical financial analysis, generating forecasts, reviewing transactions, and making recommendations to PPO unit administrators and senior management. Your involvement in projects will include crafting budgets and forecasts, advocating best practices for proactive financial management, ensuring policy compliance, and serving as the go-to expert for complex financial, policy, procedural, and technical matters.

This position manages a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, requiring a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, productivity, accuracy, organization, sound judgment and decision making. This position offers an opportunity to apply a proactive approach, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for customer service.

How you will be spending your time:

Performing highly analytical, complex finance and control functions; multi-dimensional and complex reconciliations and related analysis; preparing or reviewing and approving complex transactions and higher-level dollar value transactions.

Researching, and synthesizing data; interpolating results from large amounts of data, identifying trends in data, drawing conclusions, developing solutions, presenting and implementing recommendations, and creating follow up analysis.

Developing and maintaining complex budget and forecasting scenarios, long-range planning and analyses for financial reporting and presentations; designing and running ad hoc reports.

Reviewing, designing, and implementing appropriate internal control programs, researching new regulations, and implementing approved changes. Managing compliance programs for area of responsibility, interpreting internal policy and external regulations, and creating and/or reviewing complex compliance reports.

Engaging in continuous critical analysis of existing systems and processes; making recommendations to achieve greater efficiencies and improve internal controls. Defining requirements, developing, and implementing complex test cases, performing testing and analyzing results.

Providing training on new financial systems. Representing organization to client group(s) and external partners; serving as a subject matter expert on matters that involve complex technical, financial, or subject matter expertise.

Assessing client and business needs and formulating recommendations to determine the approach to managing and completing processes.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

Advanced proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning and financial systems; internet and computer literacy.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Advanced professional communication skills, including ability to prepare materials for and clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.

Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with fund accounting principles.

Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence and the ability to design ad hoc queries or dashboards for broad use.

Experience working in higher education.
