ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD TECHNICIAN POSITION - JOB DESCRIPTION

KC Harvey Environmental is a growing environmental consulting and field services firm headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, with regional operations in Rawlins, and Sheridan, Wyoming; Tioga, North Dakota; and remote operations throughout the Rocky Mountains and Northern Great Plains.

Our team is a crucial companion for industries with reclamation, restoration, or remediation needs (energy and mining industries and state and federal agencies) by combining consulting, engineering, and field service capabilities with a proven depth of environmental expertise. Our projects include large infrastructure development such as powerlines, pipelines, mines, wind farms, and oil and gas fields.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are currently seeking to hire multiple environmental Field Technicians to assist with Vegetation management, Stormwater Control, and various reclamation activities in our Wyoming operations based in Rawlins, WY. We offer competitive pay (starting $20/hour depending on experience) with overtime potential and provided housing accommodations for team members coming from out of town. Positions are full time and seasonal, from April through November 2026. Employment beyond these dates is possible depending on project needs.

Expectations are listed below:

· Operate herbicide spray equipment mounted on trucks, ATVs/UTVs, or backpacks to manage invasive vegetation.

· Accurately and safely mix herbicide solutions in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

· Support various land reclamation and restoration activities as needed.

· Learn to identify native and invasive plant species (training provided).

· Use digital mapping tools for navigation in field environments.

· Collect and update spatial data using ArcGIS Collector on tablet devices.

· Demonstrate strong organizational skills by completing paperwork and digital documentation neatly, accurately, and on time.

· Maintain a professional and collaborative attitude while working with team members and partners.

· Be available for early start times and extended workdays, including in remote or rugged terrain.

· Assist with the installation of stormwater and erosion control measures such as wattles, sediment barriers, and silt fences.

· Help maintain and repair existing erosion control systems.

· Conduct field inspections to assess erosion risks and site conditions.

· Document and map erosion features using digital tools.

· Maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs in a digital data management system.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Applicants must have:

A commitment to high standards in safety and environmental stewardship.

A Wyoming certified pesticide applicator license (preferred), or willingness to obtain one within two weeks of starting employment. KC Harvey will reimburse the cost of the license.

A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly to various project sites.

Ability to stay in hotel accommodations and work remotely from the office/home base for extended periods, often weeks at a time.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Capability to work in adverse weather conditions and rugged terrain.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Comfortable using digital tools such as tablets and mapping software.

Willingness to work early mornings and long hours as needed.

Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.

This is a seasonal hourly position. Compensation is dependent on experience and skills. Fully furnished lodging with basic household items will be provided for team traveling from our of town and the opportunity to work in the high desert of south-central Wyoming and other locations throughout Wyoming. Full-time project-based employees of Aventia who are regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week, are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, life and disability plans, and additional benefits. Most elections are effective on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Employer-paid Life, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability benefits are all effective upon your date of hire.
