Mount Vernon Country Club is currently hiring a line cook for high a volume club.

Only serious candidates with long tenure at previous positions will be considered.

Experience / Qualifications:

Previous experience in high volume restaurant/club preferred.

Must speak, read, and write in English.

Job Summary

Prepare items required for work station according to par sheets or instructions from Executive Chef or Sous Chef. Prepare products assigned to his or her work station during service.

Job Tasks

1.Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables and other items required for line and special club functions.

2.Carefully follows standard recipes when preparing all items.

3.Uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturers’ instructions.

4.Maintains and cleans work station and equipment.

5.Returns unused food products to proper storage areas.

6.Assists with preparation of other food products on serving line as needed.

7.Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling procedures including those relating to personal hygiene.

8.Returns soiled food preparation utensils and other small wares to the proper areas.

9.Prepares meats, poultry, seafood and other items for cooking.

10.Prepares or assists in preparing employee meals.

11.Makes recommendations for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the sauté area and equipment.

12. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by sous chef.

Reports to Sous Chef

Supervises Grill Cook & Expediter

Work experience and physical requirements

Previous experience in high volume restaurant/club preferred.

Must speak, read, and write in English.

Ability to speak and hear

Close and distance vision

Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time.

Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs

Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills

Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly

Working Conditions

May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles.

Varying Wednesday through Sunday schedule
