Maglev is looking for fast-paced, enthusiastic, motivated, and collaborative interns who have a drive to learn and will specialize in mechanical and aerospace engineering. They will work under the direction of a lead engineer to develop and implement project deliverables. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of mechanical, and aerospace engineering projects.  Responsibilities: CAD Design & Modeling: Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape) to create and modify detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies. Rapid Prototyping Execution: Operate and maintain 3D printers (FDM, SLA, etc.) and other rapid prototyping tools to quickly fabricate components for design validation and testing. Testing & Iteration: Design and execute physical testing plans to validate the performance, strength, and fit of prototype components, driving necessary design revisions based on empirical data. Assembly & Integration: Assist in the hands-on assembly, alignment, and mechanical integration of complex systems and subsystems. Documentation: Maintain organized files of all CAD models, revisions, and detailed documentation for prototypes and final designs.
