ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, and repairs to plant equipment such as encapsulation equipment, tablet presses, blenders, and packaging equipment including cremer/apps fillers, cappers, labelers, and conveyor equipment.

Perform changeover and set-up of production machines as well as troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical systems and make appropriate repairs to machines.

Perform daily preventative maintenance on plant equipment such as packaging equipment, conveyors, compressors, manufacturing equipment, and production lines.

Assist on equipment installations within the plant structure.

Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Detect faulty operations/defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

Maintain packaging and support equipment to allow for efficient and safe packaging of quality product.

Changeover manufacturing equipment. Reduce changeover time, machine downtime and increase machine efficiency.

Suggest equipment modifications to increase machine efficiency reduce downtime and reduce changeover time.

Comply with all company controlled documentation and cGMPs as they pertain to equipment and equipment maintenance.

Comply with OSHA safety regulations, SOP, safety laws and regulations.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Follow instructions and maintain high standards of quality control.

Work with department managers to prioritize work requests and ensure that jobs are completed in a timely manner.

Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/or GED equivalent

Trade School Certificate

Minimum of five years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic.

SHIFT: Monday to Friday 130pm to 930pm

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Prior experience and knowledge of nutraceutical/pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or packaging equipment.

Must possess solid organizational skills. Must be able to effectively manipulate and multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Forklift certification a plus.

Knowledge of how to safely use machine shop tools such as drills, punches, calipers, micrometers, mill, etc.

Knowledgeable in automated control systems for troubleshooting purposes.

Ability to backup and restore PLC and HMI applications (Allen-Bradley preferred, Siemens a plus).

Ability to use PLC programming software as a troubleshooting tool.

Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends.
