Litigation Attorney
The Litigation Attorney will review pleadings, regularly attend court (telephonic and in person), assist with task and workflow management, work with pleadings and accompanying paperwork and provide professional legal assistance, complete suit review and demand review as needed, advice and counsel with respect to collections and creditor's rights. Moreover, the position may require research and analysis of legal questions. The position has a high level of responsibility within established guidelines, but is encouraged to exercise initiative. The position is part of a growing team of attorneys across several states and is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Law degree from an accredited college or university
Current license to practice law in the State of New Mexico, duel licenses would be preferred.
Experience in collections law preferred
Proven experience reviewing legal documents for accuracy
Mediation and/or arbitration experience in litigation preferred
Full-time Monday through Friday
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Review and approve pleadings, motions, and responses
Review answered files and handle litigation, including court appearances
Track and respond to consumer/attorney correspondence throughout the litigation cycle
Provide efficient completion of assigned projects and tasks
Review status of cases and provide legal analysis on how to move forward
Negotiate resolutions with consumers/consumer attorneys
Complete suit review as well as demand review as needed
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and WordPerfect
Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively verbally and in writing.
Majority of this position will be in a professional office environment
