Job DescriptionImmigration Coordinator Exciting Opportunity at MSK:Exciting opportunity for an immigration coordinator to join our in-house labor and employment law team. We provide legal advice and services related to labor and employment and immigration issues. We work on matters related to discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, wage and hour issues, FMLA and ADA cases, HR policies, grievances and employee relations counseling, employee and manager training. As well as legal and regulatory aspects of MSK-wide projects and task forces. You will maintain required non-immigrant visas for prospective and current employees MSK-wide. You serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer for SKI Exchange Visitor Program and Designated School officer for the Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School. Position Overview:

Perform pre-file screening, preparation, and submission of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications. This includes H-1B, TN, E-3, F-1, CPT/OPT, and U.S. Permanent Residency. Success will be measured based on compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies within established time frames.

Coordinate and liaise with managers, employees, and prospective employees to ensure that all paperwork for immigration and visa processing is complete, timely, and accurate.

Act as a liaison with Federal immigration authorities during both the processing of visa petitions and Department of Homeland Security site visits to MSK. Be a liaison with affiliated hospitals in New York with house staff on rotation at MSK.

Participate in department-related projects and perform additional HR-related responsibilities as they arise.

Prepare and follow up semi-annually on the Labor Condition Applications with the US Department of Labor to ensure the timely filing of visa petitions.

Stay informed of all relevant US immigration laws, regulations, trends, and industry best practices through conferences, legal manuals, Government and Federal websites, SHRM, and networking.

Evaluate the departmental impact of changes to law, regulations and requirements. Implement changes to ensure compliance.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

2-4 years of directly related work experience, preferably in a health care or academic environment.

Law firm or paralegal experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated mastery of relevant U.S. Immigration laws and regulations

Attention to detail

Excellent organization skills

Federal regulations require that the employee must be a US citizen or Permanent ​Resident in order to serve as a ARO/DSO

An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.
