Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in New York. This role is within the non-profit industry and will involve tasks such as account reconciliation, financial analysis, and general ledger work among others. Responsibilities: Process and enter monthly accruals efficiently Conduct detailed reviews of expense accounts Record and monitor payments, including those through Medicaid Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial information Prepare and post journal entries as required Work on the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness Utilize Sage Intacct and MS Excel for various accounting tasks Conduct detailed review and document review as necessary Assist in month-end close procedures Perform account analysis to ensure accurate accounting records. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant. Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations is essential. Experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries is required. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Excel for financial data processing and analysis. Knowledge and hands-on experience with Sage Intacct accounting software is a must. Ability to perform Detailed Review and Document Review with a keen eye for accuracy. Experience in Month End Close procedures is required. Must possess skills in Account Analysis and financial reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification or relevant qualification is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of current financial regulations and accounting standards.
