Bakery Manager

We are hiring a Bakery Manager to lead daily operations of our commissary kitchen. This is a role for someone who is organized, a strong leader, and has operations experience. Your role is to run daily staff production and plan for each season, making sure production runs smoothly across our three channels—farmer's markets, wholesale, and e-commerce.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and support the entire bakery team.

Hire and train new bakers in the Knead Love aesthetic, values, and quality standards.

Supervise daily kitchen workflows and delegate tasks based on weekly production needs.

Conduct performance reviews and manage ongoing training and skill development.

Production Management

Oversee all daily bakery operations, from mixing doughs to baking,and packaging.

Own and manage the daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.

Set weekly pars informed by sales data and market needs.

Oversee weekly nationwide shipments and local deliveries.

Develop seasonal specials and collaborate on new menu offerings.

Anticipate seasonal production demands and adjust planning accordingly.

Maintain accurate recipe costing and source ingredients in bulk where appropriate.

Inventory & Purchasing

Manage ingredients and supply inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Order raw ingredients from distributors and regional food partners.

Purchase smallwares, packaging, and paper goods as needed.

Maintain accurate inventory checklists to keep replenishment in stock.

Operations & Quality Control

Ensure compliance with all NYS Department of Agriculture regulations.

Uphold strict standards for cleanliness, food safety, and workplace organization.

Manage equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.

Requirements:

Prior baking knowledge required, in either bakery or food production.

4+ years supervisor or managerial experience.

Excellent communication skills, ability to work with others collectively.

Can take and receive constructive feedback Setting everyone up for success, working together.

Strong time management awareness, with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and prioritize them effectively.
