Putnams Pub, an established restaurant located in Clinton Hill is hiring for the Chef de Cuisine position. We are seeking a motivated, hardworking, passionate individual with superior culinary skills to help maintain and improve our current menu, while adding their own creative influence. Ideal candidates for this position will have a no-compromise approach to food preparation and presentation as well as an appreciation of the importance of the administrative and business aspects of managing a kitchen. The right candidate will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and provide professional leadership and direction to all kitchen personal.

We need a mature, bright, dynamic, motivated and honest individual who can provide leadership in our kitchen, someone who is reliable and has a good attitude. This is a full-time hands-on position that requires a strong commitment and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. We are not looking for an office or clip board chef, so you'll need to have a strong desire to be in the kitchen and working with the food and the cooks.

Strong natural, fundamental cooking skills

Requirements:

NYC experience in a Kitchen management or Exec Sous Chef position

Certificate or Degree from a credible Culinary Arts Institution or comparable experience.

NYC DOH certified .

Impeccable service standards and clean work habits.

Professional demeanor.

Strong kitchen leadership skills with a proven ability to coach staff.

Well organized, proactive, with a strong attention to detail.

Be available to work all shifts, including weekends

Responsibilities:

Must work closely with owner and management on a daily basis.

Creating new and seasonal specials

Lead and supervise our team of cooks

Organize and assign prep tasks to each individual on a weekly routine basis;

Achieve consistency in the preparation and execution of each menu item.

Must be very creative and assist with the creation and execution of seasonal menu changes for a fast paced restaurant
