Position Overview:
The Supermarket Manager is responsible for overseeing all store operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day performance, strong sales execution, and an exceptional customer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational discipline and people management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations across all departments
Lead, train, schedule, and manage store staff
Ensure excellent customer service and handle escalations
Manage inventory, ordering, shrink, and vendor relationships
Maintain store cleanliness, food safety, and compliance standards
Analyze sales, labor, and margins; implement improvements
Enforce company policies and operational procedures
Collaborate with ownership on growth and efficiency initiatives
Qualifications:
3+ years of supermarket or grocery management experience
Proven leadership and team-building ability
Strong understanding of inventory systems, POS, and ordering
Experience controlling labor costs and shrink
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Flexible availability (including weekends and holidays)
Preferred Experience:
Independent or urban grocery environments
Fresh departments (produce, deli, meat, bakery)
High-volume or fast-paced retail operations
