ResponsibilitiesSummary:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our manufacturing plant as an Entry-Level Technical Writer and Document Author. The Entry-Level Technical Writer and Document Author is a new position within the Raleigh Food and Beverage Merchandising facility. The facility is poised for significant growth within the next year as part of a $60M investment in the facility resulting in more than doubling the team member population. This position be responsible for the authoring, updating, creation and coordination of all technical documents used within our Raleigh, NC manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and updating a variety of technical documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other instructional materials related to our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and compliance of our documentation, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of our operations. This position requires the ability to be flexible with the work schedule including the ability to work all shifts, as needed.The Technical Writer and Document Author may perform other duties as assigned by management.Essential duties and responsibilities:

Develop and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, manuals, and other reference materials for various manufacturing processes.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly and comprehensible language.

Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry standards, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in all documents.

Review and revise existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and adherence to best practices, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards.

Create and update visual aids, diagrams, and illustrations to enhance understanding and visual appeal of technical documents.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, production staff, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure proper documentation of procedures and processes.

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in documentation processes and implement solutions for increased efficiency and accuracy.

Maintain a document control system to manage revisions, versioning, and archiving of documents, ensuring easy accessibility and retrieval of information.

Conduct periodic audits and quality checks on documentation to ensure adherence to standards, consistency, and completeness.

Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in manufacturing processes to ensure the accuracy and relevance of documentation.

QualificationsRequirements:

Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communications, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 4 years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to translate technical information into clear and concise language.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards

Proficient in using document authoring and editing tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in creating visual aids, diagrams, and illustrations to support written content is an advantage.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to gather information and validate documentation.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of document control systems and best practices for versioning, archiving, and retrieval of documents.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as ISO standards or industry-specific guidelines, is beneficial.

Physical Requirements/ Environmental Conditions:

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
