Caregiver position available for 5 elderly residents in our SW Portland Adult Care Home Saturday and/or Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm. Our care home is staffed with 2 caregivers during the day, so we have the ability to spend quality time with our residents.
Job requirements include:
Have at least 1 year experience caring for the elderly population.
Possess the personality traits of patience, kindness, respect, reliability, trustworthiness, self-discipline, and integrity.
Enjoy engaging with the residents through conversation, companionship and activities on a daily basis.
Ability to follow a Person-Centered Care Model ensuring a focus on the resident’s capabilities and independence.
Ability to assist people who may be dependent in 4 or more activities of daily living including: toileting, bathing, dressing, hygiene, eating, and behavior management in a safe manner for both you and the resident.
Have the desire to cook nutritious meals and snacks according to the menu.
Ability to document facility records such as: medical records, care plans, narratives, activity records, fire drills etc…
Ability to follow the resident’s care plans to ensure the resident’s needs and wants are being met
Have a great work ethic.
Be able to take direction and work well with others.
Be in good physical condition (must be able to help transfer and turn residents in bed when needed).
Have reliable transportation.
Have the ability to read, write and speak English.
Have the ability to communicate effectively with the residents, staff, family and healthcare professionals.
Be able to pass a criminal records background check.
Have proof of Covid-19 vaccinations.
CPR/First Aid Certified.
