Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Candidate must be familiar with nonprofit accounting practices and Aplos accounting software. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization.

Duties

Manage and record all financial transactions using Aplos

Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data

Prepare and post journal entries, including debits & credits, for various accounts

Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

Assist with onboarding and payroll processing and related tax filings

Generate financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards

Support budgeting processes and financial analysis for management decision-making

Maintain organized records of all financial documentation for audit purposes

Produce and submit spend reports and reimbursement request to funders.

Skills

Proficiency in Aplos nonprofit accounting software

Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, GAAP, and financial concepts

Experience with general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and journal entries

Knowledge of governmental accounting and non-profit accounting is a must.

Ability to perform bank reconciliation and account reconciliation efficiently

Familiarity with payroll processing and tax experience

Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills including 10 key typing proficiency

Ability to interpret financial data accurately and prepare clear financial reports

Strong understanding of debits & credits, account reconciliation, and technical accounting practices
