Leave Administrator (Remote) - 2142DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Overview:

The Leave Administrator at Stella-Jones is responsible for providing oversight and administration of leave requests for compliance with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans, and in accordance with the company's leave policies. The Leave Administrator will use their excellent communication skills as the first point of contact to provide exemplary customer service and assistance to employees, site managers and HR staff.This position is part of our corporate Human Resources team and is a remote, home-based role in the United States, ideally near the Pittsburgh metro area.Principal Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing employee leaves from beginning regarding their responsibilities and expectations.

Acts as a liaison between location management, the HR Team, TPA, and the employee.

Manages leave in accordance with FMLA, ADA and other applicable federal, state and local laws including keeping up to date on future changes and implementing changes as required

Communicates with employees including but not limited to documentation and notice requirements.

Administrates other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Creates and maintains accurate and compliant leave of absence tracking and recordkeeping.

Maintains reasonable communication with employees and internal partners throughout the leave and as needed to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work.

Responds in a timely manner to information requests from leave TPA, employees and internal partners in a professional manner and escalates correspondence when necessary and appropriate.

Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, short-term disability and long-term disability benefits.

Manages accommodation requests under ADA and modified work schedules.

Occasional travel may be required.

Maintains an understanding of all company benefits to ensure employees understand the function of their benefits during a leave or disability event.

Understands the benefits offered by the company and supports benefits staff as needed.

Performs other related duties and special projects as required and assigned

Participates and contributes to company safety programQualifications:

Two or more years of experience in a Leave Administration role required; Five or more years preferred

Leave administration experience in a large company (1000+ employees) highly preferred

Manufacturing industry Leave and/or HR experience preferred

Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred

SHRM-CP or relevant HR certification preferred

Proficient in Microsoft office products

Ability to support a variety of personalities and functions in addition to interacting with staff at all levels

Experience with HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce a plus)

Expert written and verbal communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure

Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in a deadline-oriented environment

Superior customer service and high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
