The Communication Sciences and Disorders Department in the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State seeks an experienced administrative professional to serve as the Academic Program Coordinator for the department educational programs.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Responsible for all active undergrad and graduate students, including record-keeping, approval for graduation, scheduling final/comprehensive exams, typing, and processing assistantships/traineeships.Serve as the liaison between graduate students, faculty, and the graduate school.Keep faculty and students informed of Departmental and University regulations/changes.Enter and retrieve information from LionPATH for admissions, course registration, petitioning for overload, drop/add, instructional information, audits, transcripts, etc.Act as the primary contact for planning and entering course layouts for future semesters working in collaboration with the Undergraduate Professor-in-Charge, academic advisors, Graduate Professor-in-Charge, and Department Head.Maintain student files, including records of clearances required prior to initiation of clinical practice, and other documentation related to qualification for clinical certification.Serve as the primary staff support for the Professor-in-Charge for the Graduate program, including composing routine correspondence, letters, memos, annual reports, preparing minutes from Graduate Faculty Meetings, etc.Responsible to the Admissions Committee for sending information and responding to questions regarding the CSD program, monitoring all materials received from prospective students, maintaining information on GRADS System, coordinating arrangements for prospective student visits, sending acceptance/rejection follow-up letters, using spreadsheets for compiling information on applicants for Committee review.Work closely with the Administrative Support Coordinator on processing assistantships and fellowships.Provide back-up administrative support for the Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic.Provide backup support to the CSD department as needed.The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion inall ofits forms.We embrace individual uniqueness, foster a culture of inclusive excellence that supports both broad and specific diversity initiatives, leverage the educational and institutional benefits of diversity, and engage all individuals to help them thrive. This position will be filled at either the Intermediate Support level or the Senior Support Level.

Requires a High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree plus two or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for the Intermediate Support level.

Requires an Associate's Degree plus four or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for the Senior Support level.Candidates will exhibit excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and demonstrated conscientious attention to detail and organizat on. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to diversity, equity, respect and inclusion, be highly motivated, exhibit a high level of professionalism, and a dedication to exceptional customer service. Consistent high quality and thorough work is critical. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and exercise discretion and independent judgment. Excellent computer skills required. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications essential.This position requires in-depth knowledge about The Graduate School and graduate student records. Experience with systems including SIMBA, GRADS, WorkLion, iTwo, and LionPATH is preferred.Additional Information:

The successful candidate must be able to comply with all applicable health and safety requirements in the Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic and other work settings.This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.Application Instructions:
