Overview:

The Nurse Aide in Training program is designed to provide both online and hands-on training for individuals interested in beginning a career in healthcare. Participants will learn essential skills to assist residents in a skilled nursing facility, working under the supervision of licensed Charge Nurses.

Those who demonstrate reliability, teamwork, strong work ethic, and good customer service may become eligible for Education Assistance to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)—at no cost to the employee.

What Do Nurse Aides and CNAs Do?

Nurse Aides and CNAs provide direct care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for residents, following a customized care plan. They are key members of the caregiving team and work under the guidance of the Charge Nurse.

Essential Job Functions:

Ensure resident comfort and safety, and promptly report risks or accidents

Follow all facility care policies and procedures

Assist residents with:

Bathing, grooming, and dressing

Feeding and monitoring food intake

Mobility and transfers (e.g., bed to wheelchair)

Maintain Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for care provided

Take and record vital signs

Report changes in resident condition to nursing staff

Clean and maintain equipment and supplies

Escort or transport residents using wheelchairs or walking assistance

Perform lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs)

Respond to call lights promptly, ensuring resident needs are met

Practice excellent customer service—show empathy, tact, and professionalism in all interactions

Perform other duties as assigned by Nurse Management or Administrator

Qualifications:
