To be a critical member of the research team and to assist the Principle Investigator and/or immediate supervisor in carrying out technical aspects of research projects.Scope: Responsible for the planning and successful execution of experiments in the area of cancer biology in accordance with general and/or specific plans received from the immediate supervisor.Key Functions

Pancreatic Cancer Research and Data Analysis

o Conducts patient centered studies in pancreatic cancer. Assist in determining the detail required in extracting data, based upon what information is requested and is crucial for the successful completion of the project. Must be competent enough to interpret results and participate in discussions relating to the data and real-world outcome.o Data Collection: working closely with data science team on pancreatic cancer projects. Collect data on demographics, molecular, treatment information and clinical outcome.

Scientific Writing and Collaboration

o Familiar with scientific writing.o Assist in grant writing and manuscripts publication and presentation of scientific findings.o Familiar with immunological studies and data analysis generated from human tissues, immune cells and blood samples.o Helps with statistical analysis of data when needed and coordinates with statisticians working with the team.

Database Management and Patient Enrollment

Coordinates and maintains database systems to effectively manage large volumes of patient/research data, for clinical and translational studies.

Maintains databases with high level of accuracy, as evidenced by observation of supervisor.

Established files/records can easily be found by others. Computerizes files for tracking purposes. Visually reviews data for correctness and edits as necessary. Descriptive data will be populated into established table formats. Reports should represent the clinical and molecular features of patients. Visually reviews information to be filed to classify, files and purge information.

Develops and organizes protocol binders for active protocols.

Screens and enrolls patients to research protocols, including taking informed consent in accordance with federal regulations. Maintains a level of professional expertise and credibility through continuing education programs as shown by conference and class attendance records.

Carry out field work in consultation with the Principal Investigator. Delegate project coordination and prepare reports as required. Determine what information is most relevant towards the projects progression and which provide evidence for its methodology or approach.

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.EXPERIENCE:Required: Three years of experience in scientific or experimental research work.
