Position Summary

The Off-Road Truck Driver will operate a 40-ton off-road articulated dump truck, responsible for hauling soil and rock throughout the project. The job will start mid-January, and it is required to complete an OSHA 10 certification before your start date. Zachry Construction will coordinate and pay for you to get this certification if you do not already have one. Hires will be required to work six days a week and wear a long sleeve shirt and steel toe boots while working on this project. Only local candidates will be considered.

What You’ll Do

Operate an articulated dump truck or other assigned vehicles to transport soil, rock, and materials throughout the project site

Operate small tools and light equipment, including tamps, jumping jacks, rollers, and broom tractors, as directed by the foreman

Conduct daily pre- and post-operation checks, perform basic maintenance, and keep the truck clean and ready for operation

Observe, check, and assist during loading and unloading operations to ensure safety and efficiency

Complete written reports for any problems or required repairs and communicate issues to maintenance personnel

Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures and report hazards or equipment issues immediately

Assist the crew as needed with tasks such as shoveling, installing erosion control, checking grade, carrying materials, and driving posts

Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

What We’re Looking For

OSHA 10 certification is required before a start date; coordinated and paid for by Zachry Construction

You are required to wear a long sleeve shirt and steel toe boots while working

You must be able to work 6 days a week

You must be able to pass a physical and drug screen

Only local candidates will be considered

General operator skills required

Dependable, safety minded, and a strong team player

Ability to perform other duties throughout the project when the truck is not in operation

Ability to communicate effectively and safely using verbal and non-verbal hand signals
