The Graduate Hall Coordinator is a member of the Residence Life Professional Staff and is supervised by a Residence Life Coordinator. Within University Student Housing, all positions are considered a part of the larger team. In the event of a vacancy, staff may be asked to fulfill a role or have other job duties added to their position to meet the needs of the students and the department. Every effort will be made to recruit and fill positions as quickly as possible to allow staff to return to the duties for which they originally were hired.Supervision

Recruit, train, supervise, develop and educate paraprofessional staff as assigned

Provide indirect supervision and advising to complex staff, complex councils, student organizations and specialty staff

Participate in the recruitment, selection training and development of professional and paraprofessional staff

Complete formal and informal evaluations of assigned staff each academic semester

Administration

Assist in management implementation of the Residential Curriculum within assigned complex, including guidance of staff, oversight of proposals, evaluations, and funding

Administer budget responsibilities for complex

Complete student of concern and incident reporting via Maxient system

Support, provide guidance for, and implement the Disney Customer Service model (SERVE TECH & SERVE USH)

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding Learning Communities, Programming, and other complex initiatives and needs

Support departmental initiatives within Residence Life including but not limited to Academic Initiatives, Social Justice Education, Student Intervention, Recruitment &Training and Summer Conferences

Serve on departmental committee(s) as assigned

Utilize departmental databases and online systems for the management of University Student Housing and Residence Life operations

On-Call/Crisis Response

During assigned on-call shifts, be accessible by the department provided cell phone 24-hours per day (may include holiday breaks)

Be available on a call-to-duty status whenever residence halls are in operation and assist Residence Life staff with residence hall and campus emergencies

Work with stakeholders, including the Texas Tech Police Department, Crisis Hotline, and Student Counseling Center, to respond to student concerns or incidents within the residence halls

Ensure accurate reporting and provide follow-up as necessary with student and parent concerns

Building Management

Promote community development via building walk-throughs, programming and visibility within the hall to foster student ownership and care of residential facilities

Oversee 24-Hour Desk Operations with the assigned residence hall complex

Implement required emergency drills (Fire Drills, Severe Weather Drills etc.) and complete any required paperwork or follow-up

Partner with building stakeholders (i.e. facilities, housekeeping, hospitality) regarding management of assigned facilities

Advising

Recruit, train, develop and advise complex council members within assigned complex

Provide programming oversight and event management for complex council events

Track and maintain complex council account ledgers

Advise or co-advise student organizations as assigned

Minimum Hire Rate:1729.83Pay Basis:MonthlySchedule Details:Day + Night Meetings/Programs + On-CallWork Location:LubbockPreferred Qualifications:A Bachelor’s Degree is required, and candidates must have previous experience working in a residence hall. This position is designed for the individual who is pursuing a master’s degree. At the time of employment, candidates must be accepted into a graduate degree program from Texas Tech University. Enrollment in the Higher Education Administration program is not necessary, but the position is best suited for building a foundation of experience for those enrolled in that program. The Graduate Hall Coordinator position is considered a security sensitive position. Applicants will be subjected to a background check and drug test.
