Portal Scenic Studios specializes in immersive themed environments for mini-golf, attractions, laser tag, and custom scenic fabrication. We combine creative design, engineered build systems, and high-quality sculptural fabrication to deliver turnkey themed experiences. As we continue expanding our productized offerings and premium scenic prop lines, we are seeking a Project Manager with theming manufacturing experience to oversee fabrication, scheduling, logistics, and client communication.

Role Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for driving themed fabrication projects from kickoff through installation. You will coordinate between design, production, sculpting, CNC operations, coatings, and installation teams—ensuring projects stay on schedule, on budget, and aligned with creative intent. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who understands how themed environments come together in the shop and in the field.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple themed fabrication projects simultaneously from concept through delivery

Create and maintain project schedules, production timelines, and milestone checklists

Coordinate with designers, fabricators, CNC operators, sculptors, painters, and installers

Oversee change orders, budget tracking, and material procurement

Translate creative intent into executable production plans

Conduct quality control checks throughout fabrication

Lead client updates, status reporting, and approval processes

Ensure all pieces meet dimensional requirements for trucking, assembly, and installation

Maintain project documentation, drawings, and production notes

Support installation planning and on-site coordination when required

Qualifications

3+ years experience in themed fabrication, scenic manufacturing, prop building, or attraction construction

Strong understanding of shop workflows (CNC, foam carving, sculpting, mold-making, hard-coating, painting, assembly)

Proven success managing production schedules and budgets

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to read technical drawings and 3D models

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Experience coordinating freight, crating/uncrated scenic shipments, and installation logistics

Bonus: Experience with productized scenic lines or modular themed systems'
