We are looking for an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper and Finance Controller. The position would include overseeing all the day-to-day financial functions for a busy catering and event company in Seattle.

Duties would include, but are not limited to:

- Managing banking relationships and accounts including bank rec

- Cash management and weekly balance updates

- All tax filings including month end and end of year with CPAs assistance

- Developing and enforcing accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal control and efficiency.

- Managing other accounting personnel

- Making GL postings

- Assist with business licensing and permit renewals

- Assist with insurance renewals (liability related and benefits related)

- Bi-weekly payroll and light HR duties during the interim with the intent of hiring out these duties in the future.

This position requires in-person work in our office in East Lake Union, Seattle. The hours are VERY flexible. This position is a great match for someone who enjoys a casual, fun, and always growing working environment. We do not offer a traditional office atmosphere. You must be flexible and really enjoy the challenge of learning new skills, company growth and working alongside creative individuals.

Our accounting software is QuickBooks online.

Required experience/traits:

- 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience

- You must be self-motivated and a self-starter. This is a leadership/management role.

- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

- Experience with creating financial statements

- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills

- The ability to multi-task and stay organized

- The ability to manage and prioritize a to-do list

- A friendly and professional attitude and communication style with clients and fellow team members.

- The ability to switch tasks quickly and adjust as urgent needs arise.

- An extremely detail oriented mind and someone who enjoys assessing & analyzing the bigger picture and the finer details.

- Someone who enjoys a small business atmosphere and working alongside creative personalities with a non-stop entrepreneurial can-do energy

- The current position could be either part-time or full-time, depending on applicants' interest in maintaining the payroll duty.

- Benefits including medical, 401k and vacation pay are available if the position is 32+ hours per week.
