Supervisor - Packaging Structural Design

Supervises and provides technical direction to local design staff. Organizes facility processes, clarifies project priorities, and oversees overall design output at the facility level.Oversee design team output and act as the primary point of contact for design at the plant level.Coordinates resources and sets daily priorities to meet objectives.Ensure consistent and efficient internal processes and workflows specific to local manufacturing.Represents plant design group while interfacing with all other plant departments.Effectively communicates changes and priorities to the rest of the design staff.Develop structural design solutions for paper-based packaging (folding cartons, corrugated, rigid boxes).Manage design projects and maintain communications with sales, customer service, and manufacturing.Participate in customer meetings (10%), to obtain production-related information and serve as an aid to productionEnsure new designs are created for optimum efficiency for production.Create high-end, flawless packaging prototypes for customer presentations.Create organized, clear, and consistent specifications, dielines, and BOMs.Ensure all designs meet customer testing standards.Follow the direction of the management team to ensure proper design protocols and procedures are followed.Work collaboratively with design team members to identify and develop the best possible packaging solution.Effectively communicate the reasoning behind design decisions.Maintain clear organization of large ongoing projects involving a multitude of components and revisions.Remain up to date on new packaging trends, materials, and technology.Create 3D renderings including conceptual packaging design, exploded-view schematics, and detailed assembly instructions
