Title:ANT Center Research AssistantProgram Summary:AFIT is the Air Force’s graduate school of engineering and management, as well as its institution for technical professional continuing education. AFIT is committed to providing defense-focused graduate and professional continuing education and research to sustain the technological supremacy of America’s air and space forces. Through their mission to develop and deliver systems engineering and management education, the education faculty rely on interns to support classroom training products, techniques, and tools.Job Summary:KBR is seeking an intern to assist AFIT Autonomy and Navigation Technology Center (ANT) staff engineers with research and development activities related to radio frequency signal processing. This includes algorithm development using programming languages such as Python, and implementation using software and hardware processors. These include field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and general-purpose graphical processing units (GPUs).Roles and Responsibilities: Conduct graduate-level research, engineering/technical analyses, technical evaluations, and assessments for AFIT Enhance AFIT’s ability to execute their mission of conducting militarily-relevant research, delivering analytic tools to DoD organizations, and producing defense-related publications Provide scientific and technical analyses of military and commercial developments including design, development, testing, and evaluation of military-critical technologiesBasic Qualifications: High school diploma Two years’ experience in Java, C, R, Python, SQL, and HTML One year experience as an ANT Center InternPreferred Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science One year experience as an ANT Center Intern Practical knowledge of Scrum methodsThe is a temporary position.KBR BenefitsKBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
