A cover letter is requested to be submitted with your application for consideration Collect, monitor, analyze and ensure the integrity of financial institutions prepared non-complex or semi-complex financial and structure reports including: income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and other accounting statements and bank structure reports. Analyzes statements and reports in accordance with Board of Governors (BOG) and other FR guidelines for use in support and determination of the safety and soundness of banking organizations, monetary policy, and reserve bank operations. Contacts and counsels reporting entities. This is entry level work under direct supervision.Operations

Collect, evaluate, and analyze bank financial and structure reports under direction using standard applications and software.

Work with guidance and consults with senior staff and management in review and evaluation of data anomalies and bank explanatory information.

Refer complex or unusual cases to senior staff or management.

Monitor deadlines and provides senior staff with periodic status reports and interacts with other analysts to ensure completeness of data and resolution of discrepancies.

Analytical

Edit and analyzes non-complex structure data and financial reports and statements for conformity with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Communicate with financial institutions to investigate and resolve unusual fluctuations in data.

Develop comprehension of basic and extended editing concepts.

Apply basic analysis, editing, data extraction, and viewing techniques to analyze data, detect errors, maintain accurate reporting panels and provide meaningful explanatory information.

Understand the business or financial condition of assigned institutions.

Successfully complete select courses and/or on-the-job training to deepen and broaden functional knowledge including applicable regulations and developments related to the banking industry, as well as data retrieval techniques and editing methodologies.

Enhance professional development by reading technical memoranda, report instructions, user guides, press releases, and other professional literature.

Demonstrate basic knowledge of bank accounting and banking regulation.

Other duties and responsibilities

May assist in the drafting and review of memos and reports; may comment on proposed reporting or regulatory changes and processing procedures.

May provide assistance to new staff in daily processing and basic extended editing concepts.

May participate in department projects, and support System workgroup members.

Performs work using well-defined instructions, policies, and procedures, under direct supervision in some assignments. Otherwise, operates under general supervision for assignments that proficiency has been demonstrated.

Complies with all applicable information security policies, guidelines and practices.

Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree (concentration in accounting, finance, or management) preferred; or equivalent related work experience and education is required.Knowledge and Skills:

Strong analytical skills

Strong critical thinking skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Skilled use of Microsoft suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Familiarity with financial and banking structure data is preferred.

Database or statistical software for data analysis is preferred.

Physical Requirements :

Participation on System wide workgroups, training, conferences, etc. may require overnight travel by train, air, and automobile.

Ability to use a computer and related devices for extended periods of time.

Other Requirements :

Must be able to work extended hours (including weekends) at the request of the Board of Governors.
