Paint Quality Control Technician – 2nd Shift ($20–$27/hr)

We are seeking a motivated 2nd Shift Paint Quality Control Technician to join our growing team. This role supports both the evening QC department and the night powder coating line, ensuring high-quality finishes on a wide range of industrial components.

This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with paint, powder coating, or QC experience—or painters wanting to step into quality control.

Our client is a 44-year-old industry leader in the design, manufacture, and assembly of electrical controls, electrical enclosures, irrigation pumps and controls, municipal and commercial pump stations, water purification systems, and design-to-order metal fabrications. We serve a variety of industries with standard and custom products, including water pumping, oil production-drill and refining controls, wastewater treatment, conveying, baggage conveying, handling, process control, and more.

20- 25 per hour + $2.00 Shift Differential

Monday - Thursday 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM

Our Ideal Paint QC Technician Will Have:

2-5 years of industrial/commercial Paint Quality Control experience

Experience conducting visual & thickness inspections, holiday testing, impact testing, and cross-hatch adhesion testing

Ability to move parts weighing 30-50 pounds by hand & experience operating overhead cranes

Ability to read work orders, blueprints, customer specs, and paint charts

Read, write, speak, and understand English - Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Strong attention to detail, written & verbal communication skills

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform visual inspections on coatings, powder coat finishes, flanges, pump station skids, piping, and sheet metal enclosures

Conduct coating tests, including cross-hatch adhesion tests, impact testing, holiday testing, and dry film thickness testing

Operate and assist with overhead cranes to move parts

Document findings electronically and manually, conduct NCRs, tag defects, and maintain logs

Verify color, gloss, and finish consistency
