Aloha,
We are looking for a Big Island licensed (CNA, HHA, RN, LPN, RT, PT, OT) to be my 75-y.o. wife's caregiver for 5-6 days a week, for the next six months in a private home in Kamuela, beginning December 1.
My wife is an MD who sustained a TBI in a bike accident 11 years ago. She's fighting hard to regain her function and just got her medical license back so she can continue to serve the public.
You would be helping her with bathing, toileting, dressing, meal prep, laundry and light housekeeping. Also med management. You must be experienced at standing pivoting transfers and have no back issues that would keep you from transfering her. She is 5'4" and weighs 130 lbs. You must be licensed or have completed a CNA training course or worked in a facility in the last 5 years. You must live on the Big Island, not another island or on the mainland!
She is Wheelchair-bound, and works out with a personal trainer everyday on land and in the water. Great attitude, optimistic for her recovery.
You would be on duty from about 6 am to 8 pm daily. Once in a great while you'd need to help with toileting after hours, but that would be rare.
Pay is $400 per day, and we don't deduct any taxes. If you would be interested in this position, please email your references and contact information.
Mahalo plenty,
Richard, husband
