Executive House Manager / Personal Assistant (On-Site in Middletown) – Admin + Organizing
Location: Middletown, NJ (07748)
Compensation: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour
(Hourly wage will be discussed and agreed upon based on experience and specific qualifications.)
Employment Type: Part-Time / Independent Contractor (20 Hours/Week)
The Role
I am a busy professional (Attorney and Software Founder) based in Middletown seeking a reliable, high-level Personal Assistant / House Manager for a long-term professional relationship.
Important Definition of "Hybrid": Please note that while this is a hybrid role requiring both administrative skills and physical labor, it is not a remote position. All work is performed on-site.
Scope of Work
Due to a shoulder disability that limits my physical reach, I need an assistant who can act as my "hands" for organization just as effectively as they can handle administrative logistics.
Hands-On Organization & Cleaning: This is not a "clipboard" role. You will personally handle light home cleaning, decluttering spaces, and organizing business records/documents.
Physical Assistance: Assisting with tasks I cannot perform due to injury, such as moving boxes, assembling basic setups, and reaching high/low storage.
e-Commerce & Inventory: Photographing and listing items for sale (e.g., eBay) as part of the decluttering process. Tech-savviness is required here.
Vendor Management: Acting as my representative to find, vet, and supervise qualified contractors for major home repairs (electrical, plumbing, etc.) when tasks exceed your scope.
Administrative Support: Managing a personal/business calendar and coordinating phone calls. Note: You will not be communicating directly with law firm clients, but professional phone etiquette is mandatory for vendor/business interactions.
Schedule & Philosophy
Consistency: This is a year-round position. The 20-hour workload extends fully through the summer season and beyond.
Flexibility: I am looking for a results-oriented partnership rather than a "punching the clock" dynamic. The goal is to get the tasks done. I need someone who can be flexible to meet the needs of the week, and in return, I will be flexible regarding your schedule and personal time needs.
Requirements
Dog Friendly: I have a small, 15-pound hypoallergenic dog. You must be comfortable working around a friendly pet.
Local: Must be within a reasonable commute to Middletown, NJ (07748).
Tax Status: This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. You must be comfortable receiving a 1099 form at the end of the year for payments made to you. I am happy to handle the simple paperwork required for this—no formal business entity is required on your part.
Tech Proficient: Comfortable with digital listings (eBay), calendaring, and research.
Discretion: Uncompromising respect for privacy is non-negotiable.
How to Apply
Please reply to this posting with your resume or a summary of your experience. To be considered, you must explicitly answer the following three questions in your reply:
Confidentiality: As an attorney and software founder, I deal with sensitive IP and privileged communications. Are you willing to sign a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)?
Personnel: Will you be the dedicated individual performing these tasks to ensure continuity? (I require a dedicated point of contact, not a rotating crew).
Background Check: Are you explicitly okay with submitting to a basic criminal background check? Please note: I understand that people make mistakes in life and I do not discriminate based on minor infractions. My primary concern is screening for crimes of dishonesty or fraud given the sensitive nature of the access required for this role.
Please also indicate your general availability for a brief introductory phone call to discuss rates.
