Overview

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Medical Technologists (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) to join our medical team. This vital role involves performing various complex clinical laboratory tests crucial for diagnosing and treating diseases across our network of partner hospitals.

Responsibilities

- Perform clinical laboratory tests efficiently to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

- Refer unsolved technical or procedural problems to the appropriate supervisory personnel.

- Assist in orienting and training co-workers and other hospital/medical personnel regarding laboratory policies and procedures.

- Perform additional confirmation or alternative testing when initial results are atypical or warrant further investigation.

- Correlate lab results with clinical information and other laboratory data to accurately assess and validate test outcomes and procedures.

- Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and operate laboratory instruments to ensure accurate and efficient testing processes.

Requirements & Skills

- Education: Completion of a Medical Technology Program approved by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institutes (CLSI) or a Bachelor’s Degree following three years of academic studies plus 12 consecutive months of internship in an accredited school of medical technology.

- Experience: Must have completed an internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology and possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and instrumentation.

- Licenses/Certification: ASCP board certified, equivalent certification, or qualification through examination by the Health, Education and Welfare accreditation program.

- Technical Skills: Knowledge of blood bank, chemistry, special chemistry, coagulation, hematology, serology, phlebotomy, and minimal microbiology.

- Operational Skills: Ability to consistently report stat results within 30-60 minutes and prioritize testing appropriately to meet required turn-around-times.

- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to exercise sound judgment, determine priorities, manage time effectively, and communicate quickly to resolve specimen or testing problems.
