Developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (including distance delivered courses).

Advising undergraduate and graduate students.

Possibility of teaching courses in agricultural systems management.

Supervising student teachers.

Serving on departmental, college, and university committees.

Conducting focused research and scholarly activity program of national scope focused on agricultural education.

Securing extramural funding in support of a research and scholarly activity program.

Student organization advising.

Will be a faculty member in Agricultural Education & Communications and team with the department's teacher preparation faculty, as well as other departmental faculty, to complete the teaching, scholarship, and engagement activities of the department.

Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. The department is housed in an independent facility on the main campus in Lubbock, Texas. There are 13 faculty members in the department, all of whom contribute to the teaching, research, and service mission of the university. The department currently has 250 undergraduate students and 76 graduate students. Faculty members within the department specialize in one of three disciplinary areas: Teacher Education, Agricultural Communications, and Agricultural Leadership. Master's degrees are available in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Communications. A departmental Ph.D. program allows students to focus on any of the three areas and joint Ed.D. program (with Texas A&M) allows for continuing education of place-bound, mid-career professionals.
