About Us

We’re a small but growing construction company specializing in septic and sewer repair. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, reliable part-time bookkeeper to help manage our day-to-day financial operations and keep our books clean and up to date.

Position Summary

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, and assisting with budgeting and reporting. This role requires strong organizational skills, experience in construction-related bookkeeping, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Record and categorize daily financial transactions.

Manage accounts payable and receivable; track vendor invoices and customer payments.

Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthly.

Prepare and send invoices; follow up on overdue payments.

Maintain and update job costing and project expense records.

Process biweekly or monthly payroll and track employee hours.

Manage subcontractor payments and 1099 reporting.

Prepare basic financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).

Support the owner with budgeting, forecasting, and tax preparation.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.

Qualifications

2+ years of bookkeeping experience (construction industry preferred).

Absolute proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)

Understanding of job costing and project-based accounting.

Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.

Must have a high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Part-time: 10–20 hours per week (flexible schedule).
